The Capitals extended their winning streak to seven last night. But
more importantly they beat the Flyers for the first time this season.
After a painful elimination in the seventh game of the first round of
the playoffs last year and a loss earlier in the season, the Caps
needed this victory. No matter how far they have come this season, they
still needed to beat the team that knocked them out last year. The
Flyers were also the last team to beat the Caps this season. The Caps
needed this win to really prove to themselves they can beat anyone.
