The Detroit Red Wings signed free agent goaltender Ty Conklin and defenseman Garnet Exelby to contracts on Tuesday.Conklin previously played with Detroit in 2008-09, but spent the past two seasons with the St. Louis Blues. The 35-year-old veteran went 8-8-4 with a 3.22 goals-against average and .881 save percentage in 25 appearances last season.The 29-year-old Exelby has played seven NHL seasons, but spent last year in the American Hockey League with the Rockford IceHogs, the affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks. Exelby has seven goals and 43 assists, along with 584 penalty minutes, in 408 career games.The terms of both contracts were not released.
