That was a really boring game to watch. It didn’t seem to me that Detroit had very many quality scoring chances last night. Most of their shots came from the boards with no screen in front. Only one PP the whole game and it was ours. Very uneventful game. More after the jump: Howard doesn’t get much help these days and certainly doesn’t get much help in San Jose. His numbers in the Shark Tank are bad, but I don’t fault him for this last game.  A lucky bounce on the first goal, then a bad giveaway by Lashoff on the second. Stop shooting low on Niemi. I say this after every game: Niemi’s pads are so tall, all he has to do is be in the butterfly and no shot will get by him low. There is no gap to squeeze the puck into. It irritates me how many saves his pads make for him, but I have to admit he does an amazing job of finding the puck in traffic. I hate Niemi and his fat face. Datsyuk made sure that Logan Couture’s name will live on and on long after his uneventful career ends. Not sure what Vlasic’s problem was with Z tonight (I’m guessing penis envy), but hopefully Tootoo became aware and can handle it next time they play. Not really much else to say about this one. Like I said before, it was boring. Getting 6 of 8 points on this trip was huge, though I would chalk that up to solid goaltending by our guys. Even Monster. Next game is Sunday against Western Indiana. LGRW
