TEAMS: Boston Bruins
The Bruins had a nice, relaxing trip to Carolina to play the Hurricanes. Once they got there, though, all bets were off. A frantic game between the B’s and Canes had more inauspicious beginning, as the players boarded their plane in Boston to head south in search of some competition … Little did they know that so much of it would be waiting for them. Check out the above video as NESN Nation’s Dan Duquette takes you behind the scenes, with an assist from the Bruins themselves. Who Was the Last Bruin to Be Named NHL Rookie of the Year?

Dougie Hamilton is off to a great start in his first career NHL season but he’s not the only Bruin to come out of the gates red-hot. Fellow Black and Gold stars like Tyler Seguin, Brad Marchand, David Krejci and Patrice Bergeron made some great first impressions here in the Hub although none of them were able to bag the NHL’s Rookie of the Year award. Can you name the last Bruin...

Anton Khudobin Proves He Is Ready to Play, Helps Bruins Keep Rolling With Strong 2013 Debut

Anton Khudobin waited patiently for his chance to get back out on NHL ice. He got his first chance to do that since April 5 on Monday night, and he didn’t disappoint. The absence of Tim Thomas meant that Tuukka Rask would get a chance to show what he could do as the starter. It also meant that Khudobin, who has spent most of his Bruins career in Providence, would also get a chance...

Dougie Hamilton ‘Really Excited’ to Remain With Bruins After Impressive Start to Rookie Season (Video)

In the least surprising news of the day, Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli announced prior to Boston’s matchup with Carolina that rookie sensation Dougie Hamilton will be staying with the big club and will not return to juniors. The 19-year-old defenseman impressed with three assists over his first four NHL games, and added a fourth helper Monday night as the B’s defeated...

Claude Julien Calls Bruins ‘Determined Group,’ Likes Team’s Third-Period Effort (Video)

According to Bruins coach Claude Julien, Nathan Horton is playing as well as he ever has right now. That’s good news for Boston, who seems to be feeding of Horton’s energy and gaining some extra points by playing hard-nosed hockey late in games. On Tuesday against the Devils, Horton provided the big game-tying goal, and Julien notes that after coming back from major concussion...

Which Recent Bruins Rookie Looked the Most Impressive Through His First Five Games?

Through five games and a 4-0-1 start, one thing is certain: the Bruins are playing some solid hockey. There is a lot of buzz surrounding this team and most of it involving rookie sensation Dougie Hamilton. The 19-year-old from Toronto has looked consistently solid throughout Boston’s first five games. The rookie has registered four points on the year, despite going against many...

Bruins Hoping to Flip Script on Hurricanes With New Season Holding Promise of New Results (Video)

The Bruins did not get along very well with the Hurricanes last year. Four games against Carolina resulted in four losses for the B’s, but this season, things should be different. For one, Boston is playing at a higher level at the moment than they ever did against the ‘Canes last year. For another, well … look no further than the blue line to see a big difference-maker. NESN...

Bruins’ First Line Propels Club On and Off Stat Sheet in Win Over Hurricanes

The Bruins pride themselves on being a team with depth at each position from the top to the bottom of the roster. That works more often than not, but on some nights, the B’s are left to call on their big guns to help them come away with a win. That was certainly the case Monday night in Carolina where the Bruins’ first line came up big in a 5-3 win over the Hurricanes. The trio...

Bruins looking for their best start in 21 seasons

Bourque and Neely combined for 77 goals and 106 assists for the '90-91 Bruins. With a win Monday night, the Bruins would improve to 4-0-1 on the season, matching their best start to a season since the 1990-1991 campaign. That season, Cam Neely and Ray Bourque brought the Bruins to the ECF, where they fell to Mark Recchi and the eventual Stanley Cup Champion Penguins. Standing...

Bruins Save Best for Last, Once Again Prove to Be Resilient in Shootout Win Over Devils

BOSTON — It’s a foregone conclusion that the Bruins will lose a hockey game in regulation at some point this season. That point appeared to be Tuesday night at TD Garden. Playing their second game in as many days, the Bruins had a well-rested, red-hot New Jersey Devils team waiting for them in Boston. The B’s returned from Carolina around 1 a.m. Tuesday morning, with only a...

Bruins come back to steal two points from the Devils, win 2-1 in the shootout

Despite never leading and playing the second of back-to-back games against a rested opponent, the Bruins squeaked out a shootout win over the Devils behind 25 saves by Tuukka Rask.  The Bruins appeared to be on the verge of being shutout until Nathan Horton tied the game with 4:05 left in the third period. The Devils got on the board in the second period on a David Clarkson power...

Nathan Horton Punks Tim Gleason & Scores On Cam Ward

Nathan Horton buried this beauty in the closing minutes of the second period of Monday’s Bruins-Hurricanes game in Raleigh. The ‘Canes allowed Horton to walk into the zone before he dangled Tim Gleason with a nifty toe drag before beating Cam Ward top shelf and it was one of the prettier goals we’ve seen in this young Bruins season. It’s great to see Horton back, healthy...

Ty Anderson: Bruins look to stay perfect at home against Devils

If the Boston Bruins survive round one against the Washington Capitals last year, there’s a great chance that the New Jersey Devils’ 2011-12 Eastern Conference Champions banner doesn’t exist. There’s no other way to say it, really -- the Black-and-Gold simply owned the Devils last year. Sweeping the season series and outscoring the Devs 18-to-8 in the process...

If A Win Is So Ugly No One Can Watch It, Does it Make a Sound? BRUINS WIN.

Jebus. What an ugly, ugly game, ha. Sure, we weren't expecting much with the Bruins playing back to back games but between the Bruins fatigue and boring ass Devils hockey that game was uglier than your prom date.  But then you sit down and think... well, everyone has taken home a swamp monster in their life and if you try not to think about what it looked like...
