Now that the injury-plagued Flyers know that Peter Forsberg isn't returning this year, they are looking into other ways to improve their club. The Ottawa Sun reports that the Flyers and Toronto Maple Leafs are discussing a possible deal that would send Tomas Kaberle to Philly. There is no word on what the Flyers would be giving up to get the speedy defender. The only problem is Kaberle has a no-trade clause, and he has said in the past that he has no intention of waiving it.

  • He stated very plainly that he will not waive his no-trade. Unfortunately that makes this a non-story at the deadline, esp since they just traded for Modry.
  • I don't think getting Modry will keep them from looking at a top defenseman
  • The Flyers have coveted Kaberle forever and it never pans out.I'm betting this one won't either.
  • Fan 590 reported late this morning that Kaberle nixed a trade with the Flyers ...it was him for Carter and 3 low level prospects.
  • Crazy fans from Philly won't let this story die.

It's dead, let it be so!
