It appears the Nashville Predators made another move Thursday, signing defenseman Bryan Rodney, according to a tweet sent out by his strength and conditioning coach Tyler Doig.
Congrats to RevCon athlete Bryan Rodney on his deal with Nashville! #Preds

Rodney has played in only thirty-four career NHL games (33 in Carolina and 1 in Edmonton) scoring one goal and twelve assists with a -8 player rating. Most of Rodney's career since leaving the Ontario Hockey League's London Knights after the 2004-05 season has been spent in the American League and East Coast League.
Adding the 29-year-old to the fold hints at a potential trade at defense before training camp begins. The two likely suspects at being moved are Mattias Ekholm and Ryan Ellis, with latter being the most possible. Rodney will probably be at the Predators' training camp in September in an attempt to score a roster spot. Although that may be farfetched, he will give Bartley, Ekholm and Ellis and run for their money.
But when all is said and done, Rodney will start off the season with the Admirals and attempt to work his way up due to injuries or lack of performance from defenders above him in the depth chart.
When the signing becomes official, we'll post the contract information and more.
