We discussed at length the condundrum the Rangers and prospect Jesper Fast(h) have. The Rangers want him to come over to North America now. Jesper wants to come over. But the Swedish Ice Hockey Association wants him to stay for the World Championship and ultimately have final say in the situation. According to Swedish news website Aftonbladet NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly and the Swedish Ice Hockey Association met and reached a solution. Assuming the report is valid, Fast will be allowed to come over and join the Rangers organization but will have to go back to Sweden to play for the national team on April 15th, or in time to join the team for their camp which begins April 17th.   At face value it appears there is a resolution of sorts. But there still are questions to ask and merited debate. bringing Fast over means burning a year on his Entry-Level Contract. And that was a point of debate from the very beginning. Now, the Rangers can only keep him until mid-April regardless of where the Rangers and Connecticut Whale are at. Fast is likely going to start in the AHL. Is it worth burning that precious year on his contract just for a few weeks in North America and very possibly zero games at the NHL level? I'm not so sure. We'll see what Gordie Clark and Glen Sather decide, however. Follow Me On Twitter: @Herman_NYRBlog Email Me: AdamNYRBlog@gmail.com
