In an interview done with NHLPA.com back in March 2011, the newest Ranger Rick Nash gave an insightful look into many things about his life, ranging from why he wears No. 61 to players he looked up to while growing up. Since we only know Nash the hockey player, it's nice to know what he likes off the ice.

  • Nash had me sold the minute he mentioned Blades of Steel. Grew up playing that game, awesome for Nintendo. If you wait till the end of the video, YouTube suggest similar videos to watch. One option is Brandon Dubinsky's. Ouch.

Meanwhile around the NHL, news broke today that the Predators will match the offer sheet signed by Shea Weber that would have seen their franchise defenseman bolt for Philadelphia. Instead, Weber remains with the Predators for 14 years, $110 million.
  • Personally thought the contract was too much for Predators to match (still do, I think they'll look to trade him down the road), but Nashville had no choice but to match. With Suter gone to Minnesota, losing Weber would have been catastrophic for the franchise. Plus, no Weber coming to Philadelphia means the entire NYR fan base can take a deep sigh of relief.

Finally, if you're a workout junkie, a huge fan of Chris Kreider—or both—check out the Rangers stud forward in the weight room, dead-lifting 530 pounds!

  • Now you can see why Kreider is so fast! That's some serious weight, yet he's not exactly the biggest of guys. Lower body strength is essential, and its great to see the kid putting in work in the offseason. It's going to be fun watching him next season.
