The Hockey Herald:
Rod Brind'Amour suffered a torn ACL early in the first period of Thursday's 4-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins and effectively is out for the remainder of the season.
The driving force behind the Hurricanes, Brind'Amour will undergo reconstructive left knee surgery on Friday and is expected to be sidelined four to six months. The procedure will be performed by Dr. Marty Isbell, Carolina's head orthopedic physician, at Rex Hospital.
