Jesse Spector of the Daily News is reporting that the Rangers are interested in Ottawa Senators forward Chris Neil. Neil, 31, still has two more years remaining on his contract after this one and will be paid $2 million in each of those.Here's the report from Jesse:Multiple sources have told the Daily News that the Rangers are interested in acquiring Senators winger Chris Neil, who is third in the NHL this season with 157 penalty minutes entering tonight.The 31-year-old Neil has three goals and nine assists in 58 games this season, and on a lot of levels, his name popping up on the Blueshirts’ radar is confusing.Confusing is the best way of putting it. Acquiring Neil would be absolutely pointless, since he is very similar to Brandon Prust and Sean Avery.
