Columbus Blue Jackets forward Jeff Carter was recently listed as one of the top potential targets for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

A hefty contract, however, at over $5 million a year for 10 more years makes it difficult for any team to bite. Especially with what Columbus wants in return.

TSN’s Darren Drager recently reported Toronto GM Brian Burke wants nothing to do with the price tag, and has not talked to the Blue Jackets.

The Blue Jackets would like to do a flip on the deal they did with the Philadelphia Flyers over the summer — and that’s obtaining a talented young player and a No. 1 draft pick.

“Good luck,” Drager said during the broadcast.
