Luke Adam had a goal and an assist to lead the Buffalo Sabres over the Nashville Predators 3-2 on Saturday night.
Zack Kassian and Tyler Ennis also scored for Buffalo.
Craig Smith and David Legwand scored for Nashville.
Anders Lindback made his third start of the season for the Predators and gave up two goals in the first period.
Adam was the first to score. With the puck loose in the slot, Adam gained control and beat Lindback over his right shoulder 10 minutes into the game.
Kassian broke loose on a breakaway and fired a backhand shot from low in the slot that also went over Lindback's right shoulder.
With 4:06 left in the second period, Nashville's Jordin Tootoo crashed into Sabres goalie Ryan Miller, knocking him out of the net and onto the ice. The collision prompted a pileup of players. Tootoo was given a major penalty for charging and a game misconduct.
Miller, activated from injured reserve Friday, had missed eight games as the result of a head injury.
The Predators broke the shutout at the 4:54 mark of the third period when Smith scored on the power play from the middle of the left circle. His shot bounced off Miller and went over his shoulder.
Ennis scored the winner with 4:15 left with a shot from inside the left circle.
With 1:35 to play, Legwand beat Miller from low in the right circle.
Miller stopped 32 shots for the Sabres, who managed only 14 shots in the game.

Depending on which bench or broadcast booth you were sitting in on Saturday night, the hit by Nashville's Jordin Tootoo on Buffalo's Ryan Miller was either a "suspend-able offense" or a "hockey play." There was little middle ground of opinion.Predators coach Barry Trotz was asked about the penalty in his post game presser. "I wouldn’t say excessive...
The Predators have only four more games away from Nashville. On top of this, they've now won two of their last three, and seem to have their darker times in the rearview mirror.
Thursday's game was a weird one. When these two teams played last year, they combined for 14 goals in four games during the regular season. On top of that, they only scored five goals in the second...

Sabres goaltender Ryan Miller returned on Saturday after missing nearly a month with a concussion. Nashville's Jordin Tootoo welcomed him back in a rather unfriendly manner. With the Sabres leading 2-0 in the second period, Tootoo drove hard to the net as defenseman Christian Ehrhoff tried to poke check the puck away. Tootoo continued driving hard, though, and cut back toward...
First off I have no idea what Jordin Tootoo is trying to do in this instance, compare and contrast this with the Lucic incident, Miller is in the blue paint and Lucic ran into Miller going for a puck. In Tootoo's case he simply left his feet and ran over Miller, you can not just run over the the goalie like Tootoo did. I think Jordin Tootoo is going to be getting a suspension...
Another false start. Another home loss.
This game was over at the 14:41 mark of period one, when Val Filppula beat Jhonas Enroth. Earlier goals by Kindl and Franzen buckled Buffalo's knees.
Per their system, Detroit owned the puck. They win faceoffs, loose pucks and rebounds, and they refuse to share it with their opponents. The Sabres got schooled by the best puck...
