The Buffalo Sabres have announced another signing today, this one in the form of veteran forward Rob Niedermayer.
Niedermayer appeared in 71 games for the New Jersey Devils last year.
With career stops in Florida (drafted in 1993), Anaheim (on Stanley Cup winning team), and New Jersey; the Sabres add someone who has been there and done that – something none of their forwards can say they have done.
This is probably not the piece that is going to put them back on the Stanley Cup contention list, but it gives them something they haven’t had since the days of Drury – and that is having someone who has lifted the Stanley Cup recently.
