The Buffalo Sabres had their broadcast crew sitting on the Sabres bench calling the hockey game on Tuesday night and Rick Jeanneret wasn’t taking any chances.  Jeanneret decided to wear a helmet, shield and all, just in case any havoc came near the bench.  I hope Jeanneret knows how goofy he looks with that helmet on, it definitely makes Pierre McGuire tougher than him, something Jeanneret shouldn’t be proud of. That happened in Buffalo last night, and not...

Kevin Freiheit: Sabres have major news conference at 10:30 a.m.

So the Sabres are good again? They managed to beat the Kings in a shootout even though they were badly outshot throughout the night. Buffalo is a perfect 3-0 in shootouts this season. L.A. finished with 45 shots to Buffalo's 17, but somehow Ryan Miller and the Sabres hung on. 13 different Kings players recorded multiple shots on goal. Miller has continued to play well, but...

Buffalo Sabres play-by-play man Rick Jeanneret was almost the victim of an uncommon workplace hazard during Tuesday night’s broadcast of the Sabres’ game against the Los Angeles Kings. GARTH'S CORNER: Rope-A-Dope

"It was greasy... a greasy win. It wasn't pretty, but we won it for our fans", Tyler Ennis told me in a jubilant, victorious Buffalo locker room.
