Karlsson Speaks Candidly to Aftonbladet: Divorce, Loss of Friends/Teammates in 2013

Swedish newspapers get all the scoops. After bringing Senators fans the infamous Andre Petersson interview in which he cracked on Binghamton and the KISS photo, Aftonbladet has now published the most introspective Erik Karlsson interview that I’ve probably ever seen that didn’t involve Karlsson eating a meal with Ian Mendes at IKEA. Karlsson, if you’ll recall, went...

Do the Ottawa Sens want to continue with Jason Spezza at helm?

Jason Spezza's first year as the Senators captain has turned into a nightmare. Will there even be a second? The Ottawa centre will enter the final season of his contract in October, but it seems management has a decision to make in the months leading up to it. Will there be a concerted effort to get Spezza inked to another deal? If he hits the open market July 1, 2015, there...

Congestion in the AHL’s East Division

Cole Schneider and the Binghamton Senators lead a tight race in the AHL’s East Division. (Casey Staff/PressConnects.com) The American Hockey League division that has produced the last ten Eastern Conference representatives in the Calder Cup Finals is delivering just as heated of race for the top spot in the 2013-14 season. What’s Wrong With Craig Anderson?

from Don Brennan of the Ottawa Sun, It's quite possible the rising questions about Craig Anderson's character would be put to bed by somebody coming clean on his injury. In Bruce Garrioch’s vaunted Sunday column, he identified the Anaheim Ducks and St. Louis Blues as two teams that called on the Senators’ Jason Spezza at the NHL’s trade deadline on March 5th. It has been known for some time that the Ducks were one of the teams that called Bryan Murray to inquire on Spezza’s availability – after rumours abounded that the Senators were...

Senators get crucial win over Tampa Bay Lightning

Remember when Robin Lehner used to have problems in the shootouts? There was no evidence of them Monday at Tampa Bay Times Forum. Lehner stopped Valterri Filppula, Nikita Kucherov and Steve Stamkos, and Jason Spezza scored the only goal Ottawa would need to snap a six-game losing streak, defeating the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-3 in the tie-breaking skills contest. “It was nice to...
