The verdict is in. Shawn Thornton is getting 15 games for his incident with Brooks Orpik last week. Thornton has missed three games already, so he'll miss another 12. He'll be back in time for my birthday party weekend next month. Thanks, NHL!

A verdict slightly less intense than the firing squad or hanging Penguins fans were hoping for. The NHL is sending a message will this one, and hopefully they're also sending a memo to refs to nip things in the bud before they get out of hand.
In related news, Brooks Orpik started skating again this week.
Boston takes on the Canucks tonight.
