The Anaheim Ducks will start the 2013-14 season without one of their top defenseman. Sheldon Souray will miss four to six months after tearing a ligament in his right wrist. Souray suffered the injury back on July 17th while he was working out away from the rink, as reported by Anaheim's official site.
Souray required surgery to repair the injury back on July 25th and he'll be out for approximately four to six months from the date of his surgery.
Using some basic math, it appears Souray should be ready to return to action in either November, December or January. Recovery times vary significantly in the NHL, so it's difficult to predict just how long the defenseman will be sidelined. His presence will be missed by Anaheim as he was one of the more consistent defenseman on the roster in 2012-13. Souray tied for the team lead in plus/minus with a +19.
It's rather interesting that it took over a month for the news surrounding Souray's injury to break. One w...

Whether you love his moves or hate his moves, you can’t deny Paul Holmgren is willing to make a bold trade when he feels his team needs it. One of those trades came in the summer of 2009, when Holmgren was able to grab Chris Pronger from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for several pieces. One of those pieces was a young blue liner by the name of Luca Sbisa. Sbisa was drafted 19th...
