Joe Haggerty of CSNNE  wrote a piece yesterday talking about the possibility of the Bruins making a deal for Calgary's Jarome Iginla or former Bruin sniper, Michael Ryder of the Dallas Stars. Iginla could add a  scoring punch to the B's Jarome Iginla is 35 years old and on his final year of his contract. In the 12 game sample, he has registered 8 assists and 1 goal, which raises some speculation if his competitive fire has ran out due to playing on a mediocre team for so long. He did put up 32 goals and 35 assists last season, so maybe it is the shortened season that's affecting him. The Bruins recently cleared $5million in cap space with the Tim Thomas trade, and if they place Marc Savard on Long Term Injury Reserve, they will have about $11 million in cap space. They also have the draft picks and prospects to make a deal happen. Ryder was a key component to the championship run Haggerty then adds, if not Iginla why not Michael Ryder.
