OTTAWA -- The captains of both Team Alfredsson and Team Chara held private meetings earlier this afternoon to decide their lineups for the 2012 NHL All-Star Skills Competition, which will take place tomorrow night at ScotiaBank Place. As Team Alfredsson head coach John Tortorella confirmed in a press conference today, the coaches do not have any input on the Skills Competition lineups as they leave the duty entirely up to the players.

As far as Rangers players go, Marian Gaborik will be participating in the Challange Relay and Elimination Shootout for Team Chara. Notice he did not elect to take part in the Fastest Skater competition. Carl Hagelin, however, will be in that competition, and according to captain Daniel Alfredsson, he is the favorite to win. Hagelin will also be Team Alfie's rookie participant in the Elimination Shootout.

Meanwhile, Dan Girardi will be a passer in the Accuracy Shooting competition and Henrik Lundqvist will be a goaltender in the Elimination Shootout. Hank decided to let Brian Elliot participate in the goaltender's edition of the Fastest Skater contest, claiming that he isn't "that fast".
