You'd like to allow less than a touchdown in the finale of the finest of your 33 regular seasons, but the Washington Capitals can take solace in the fact that this was the first meaningless regular season game the franchise has played in two calendar years.  The chink in the run and gun Caps' armor is their vulnerability to the stretch pass and the Florida Panthers attacked that early and often in a listless 7-4 loss.  Nylander and Schultz, who could find themselves healthy scratches for the playoffs, were both -2 along with Fedorov and David Booth scored his team leading 31st (hey, as many as Mike Green!) as one of his five points.  Washington found themselves down 3-1 and tied it up twice, the second time on a stretch pass from Kozlov to Ovechkin leaving the likely Hart winner with 56 G on the year (no one else has scored more since Bure in 2000-01).  But the game turned on a beautiful Steve Eminger (good for him, he's had a vagabond season) backhand with under five minutes left.
