The St. Louis Blues have announced today that they have re-signed defenseman Jordan Leopold to a two-year contract extension, worth $4.5 million.
Leopold’s signing marks the third Blues player to get re-signed this off-season as the Blues re-signed center Patrik Berglund to a one-year deal worth $3.25 million back on June 25th and defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk to a four-year deal worth $17 million on June 26th.
Former Tampa Bay Lightning center Vincent Lecavalier has signed with the Philadelphia Flyers to a five year deal, worth $22.5 million.
The Blues had shown interest in Lecavalier to sign him as a free agent. Former Flyers center Danny Briere is another play the Blues have been interested in, but has not signed with another team yet after the Flyers bought him out with two years left on his contract.
