Stanley Cup Finals: No one should anyone be surprised that Detroit is dominating Pittsburgh

In many ways it reflects the relentless nature of the Detroit Red Wings the past two seasons. Perhaps it is because my favorite team is in the Western Conference; or perhaps its because the league has gone out of its way to try to make the Detroit Red Wings, America's Hockey team yet I am really not surprised by the outcome of the 2008-09 Stanley Cup Finals thus far with the Motor City holding a commanding 2-1 series lead. As a Western Conference fan, you've watched Detroit do this to many teams as they control the pace of play with a smart and efficient puck possession game and then find ways to chip in a few goals, then give the coup-de-gras with a suffocating defense that is the hockey equivalent of a submission hold.
