The Dallas Stars have placed center Mike Ribeiro on injured reserve with a lower body injury. The move before Monday night's game at St. Louis was retroactive to Jan. 7, when Ribeiro was hurt in a 4-1 win against Edmonton. Ribeiro had seven goals and five assists in 11 games before getting injured. He is second on the team in power play scoring with seven points.

Dallas Stars leading scorer Jamie Benn underwent an appendectomy Sunday.
Benn, who was selected to play in the NHL All-Star Game, is expected to be sidelined for 10 to 14 days.
The 22-year-old left wing has 13 goals and 29 assists in 43 games this season.
With the All-Star Game scheduled for Jan. 29, it's uncertain if Benn will be healthy enough to play.
