The Nosebleeds OLD:
After a bonehead play by two Phoenix Coyotes players that gave the Panthers a penalty shot to potentially tie up the game with 24.5 seconds left in the third, Florida's Stephen Weiss bombed down the center of the ice and attempted to go five-hole on Coyotes goalie Jason Labarbera. Weiss had Labarbera beat but the puck got caught under the goalie's sliding body. When the puck finally popped out from under Labarbera's pad it continued to slide towards the inside of the net but came to a halt right on the goal line, denying Weiss and Florida of a game-tying goal.
It's not very often that you hear hockey referred to as a "game of inches" but that's certainly what it boiled down to last night in this game.
