The Canes had an added defenseman and were down a forward today at their first home practice in a week.
Forward Anthony Stewart was held out of practice with a lower-body injury and his status is day-to-day, coach Paul Maurice said. Stewart has been playing with the injury the past few games.
While defenseman Justin Faulk was recalled today from the Charlotte Checkers (AHL), Maurice said he would not be in the lineup for tomorrow's home game against the Ottawa Senators.
Faulk traveled with the Canes to Boston last week but was a healthy scratch in the Tuesday game and then was assigned Wednesday to Charlotte. He played three games for the Checkers.
"He was just going down to play games for the weekend. That was decided last week," Maurice said. "It won't change the lineup for tomorrow.
"He's going to be playing games at some point, somewhere."
