Have we seen the last of Teemu Selanne in the NHL? As soon as the Anaheim Ducks were booted from the playoffs by the Detroit Red Wings, fans were immediately wondering if Selanne would be returning to play hockey for another year or if he'd call it a career and hang up his skates.  During the team's exit interviews on Tuesday, Selanne's future was a hot topic. When questioned about retirement, Selanne stated that he was going to take time to contemplate his future, as reported by the LA Times. In the past, Anaheim has allowed Selanne to determine his future and it's believed that will again be the case this summer.  Barring a surprise by GM Bob Murray, Selanne's future is completely up to him. If he wants to play again the Ducks will likely accommodate him. This sense of respect is one that Selanne acknowledges and appreciates. Coach Bruce Boudreau admitted that he has no say in the situation, but that he "loves" him. Who doesn't?  Despite the fact Selanne is set to turn 43 in July, the veteran forward still has plenty to give at the NHL level. In 46 games, Selanne tallied 12 goals and 12 assists. When it comes down to pure skill and athletic ability, Selanne is more than capable of competing in the NHL for at least another year.  One more year, Teemu! [follow]
