Bringing a merciful end to their collective, pent-up anxiety and delivering a much-needed and deserved relief to NHL fans the world over, the lockout, something that has maligned and made a mockery of the league while making both the owners and players villains and objects of abject derision, finally ended on Sunday morning. The conclusion of the lockout obviously was big news all over the web, in particular those sites that cover the sport, no matter how lazily (*cough — ESPN — cough*), but even sites that counts its typical area of coverage well outside the realm of sports managed to get in on the good news as well, including People.com. Yep, one of the top stories on People’s website on Monday was the fact that the lockout was over, but of course, being People, the angle through which the story was covered was far different than how it was reported on say, NHL.com, TSN.com, etc. How People elected to report it involved how Carrie Underwood has lost her “purse holder” husband, Nas...
