Buffalo, NY – It was Saturday, November 12 when the hit heard round the NHL took place. Bruins forward Milan Lucic barreled into Sabres goaltender Ryan Miller as he was charging to play the puck in the slot. The response, or lack there of, is the real reason the hit has stood out more than it should have.
The Sabres made no effort to go after Lucic after he took out their number one goalie and the Bruins went on to dominate Buffalo for the rest of the night, winning 6-2 in the end.
After a week-and-a-half of talking and calling out, the Sabres have their rematch with the big, bad Bruins in front of what is sure to be a packed, hostile environment at the First Niagara Center tonight (7pm, MSG).
Many don’t expect Buffalo to be too aggressive in response to what took place in Boston over a week ago, but they, including myself, expect some sort of fisticuffs to take place early on in the game.
The Sabres have to prove that they aren’t going to be pushovers anymore to the bigger, more ...

Milan Lucic and Todd Bertuzzi were chosen by NBC to introduce their lines during Friday's Thanksgiving Showdown between the Bruins and the Red Wings. They eventually got through it just fine, but it took a couple of tries for each to smoothly get through the ordeal. Lucic had some trouble remembering where Nathan Horton was from, while Bertuzzi had some diffculty pronoucing ...
BUFFALO -- Bruin Milan Lucic infuriated the Buffalo Sabres with his thunderous open-ice hit that injured star goalie Ryan Miller last week in Boston. The Sabres managed a very tepid response to the play and were widely criticized for not making Lucic answer for the hit. Thus, there is an ...
When Milan Lucic and the Bruins finally dropped the gloves with the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday night, it was a long time coming. NESN Nation's Dan Duquette was pretty fired up from the early shenanigans, but wanted to see how other fans felt. So he asked our Twitter followers what they took away from the early fights. Check out the video above for their reactions. Join NESN...
It has been an ongoing discussion again in the NHL ever since Milan Lucic crushed Ryan Miller. It should be simple: If the goalie leaves the net, he should be fair game.
It is a bit shocking to see the reaction around the league. I would have thought general managers would be a bit more "old school" but that is not the case. According to Chris Johnston of The Canadian...
8 a.m. ET: The Bruins close out their three-game road trip with first place in the Northeast Division on the line in a clash with the Sabres. But that might not be the biggest storyline in Buffalo on Wednesday. This game also marks the first meeting between the clubs since Milan Lucic crashed into Sabres goalie Ryan Miller in Boston's 6-2 win at the Garden on Nov. 12. The Sabres...
For the Buffalo Sabres, the best revenge (if you want to call it that) for the now infamous hit on Ryan Miller wouldn't be a fight with Boston's Milan Lucic, the main culprit in the incident that went unanswered by the Sabres, but rather a proverbial punch to the mean mugs of the B's on the scoreboard. And for a little over 20 minutes, it appeared that Buffalo was going...
from John Vogl of the Buffalo News, The Sabres can say it’s just a hockey game all they want. Tonight’s meeting with Boston is more than that, and everyone involved knows it.
“A lot of people are talking about it,” Bruins forward and Buffalo villain Milan Lucic said Tuesday. “There’s a lot at stake with getting that first place in the division. Even the fans here in...
Two weekends ago, Bruins forward Milan Lucic was on a breakaway when the puck got away from him and he collided with Sabres goalie Ryan Miller, who had left the crease. Miller ended up with a concussion and called Lucic a piece of s*** after the game. The NHL did not suspend nor fine Lucic, [...]
BUFFALO -- It took only 1:23 after the opening faceoff for the Sabres' much-anticipated fight with Bruin Milan Lucic to occur. The task fell to 6-foot-5 Sabres center Paul Gaustad, who lined up next to Lucic on the second shift of the game. The pair dropped the gloves at the ...
Milan Lucic and the Bruins will have their likely have their heads on a swivel on Wednesday night when they head into Buffalo for a matchup between the top two teams in the Northeast Division. Lucic will certainly be at the very least an unpopular man when he takes the ice against the Sabres, as it will mark the first time since Lucic ran over Sabres goalie Ryan Miller on Nov. 12...
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) Milan Lucic answered the call, and the Boston Bruins picked up yet another win.
Nothing like a revenge brawl to start the Thanksgiving week!
BUFFALO - Rugged Bruins winger Milan Lucic figures he has a fight waiting for him here tonight, the residue of his infamous entanglement 11 days ago with Ryan Miller that left the Buffalo goalie hurting, coach Lindy Ruff fuming, and Sabres teammates apologizing for standing idly by in the aftermath of Lucic’s shot heard ’round the world.
If this was a Buffalo blog we would complain about all the cheap shots. If this was a Buffalo blog we'd complain about everyone running Tim Thomas. If this was a Buffalo blog we'd be busy making excuses yet again because our team sucks more than a two dollar hooker on half off Tuesday and is softer than a 90 year old man's penis.Awesome pic courtesty of Eric (@BosBruinsFan...
