Getty Images Getty Images I just love saying the word potpourri. How many of you just called it “Pot Porry” right now? Me too, for a long time, longer than I’d care to admit. Well, a bit of news around the league last few days, all involving coaches getting fired and at least one, Bruce “Gabby” Boudreau already re-hired in Anaheim. In case you missed it, late last night the Ducks fired Randy Carlyle and hired Boudreau, fired just three days ago in Washington. So now Carlyle, who had a contract that ran through 2013/14 with the Ducks, is looking for work. He won a Stanley Cup just four years ago in Anaheim, and took them to the Western Conference finals the year before that. He’s a good coach. And yes, Avs fan, I know what you’re thinking. Let me just say that for as long as Joe Sacco is the coach here, I’m not going to get into any baseless “Will Carlyle or any other coach come here soon?” speculation. Sacco is the coach right now and I don’t have any solid information that sugges...

Rangers Being Tied to Bobby Ryan Rumors

I'm not a big fan of rumors and you all know that. But it seems like everywhere I turn tonight, I'm seeing more and more connections between the New York Rangers and Anaheim Ducks forward Bobby Ryan. Ryan, 24, has gotten off to a rough start this season, only recording eleven points in 24 games, so it is rumored that he is a player the Ducks currently have on their trading...

Should the Philadelphia Flyers Try to Trade for Bobby Ryan?

Short answer here: Yes, GM Paul Holmgren should absolutely attempt to acquire Bobby Ryan. The Flyers need defense more than  offense, but Ryan is good enough that he's worth going for. There isn't an excess of top-tier defensemen out on the trade block, and Philadelphia has a few good young prospects that could benefit from getting experience now. Erik Gustafsson, Marc Andre...

Bobby Ryan being shopped? Paging David Poile…

When it was first reported (by the Orange Country Register) that the Anaheim Ducks were “possibly shopping a top player,” several Preds bloggers got into some friendly banter about what it would take to bring Bobby Ryan to Music City. Then, tonight, when Rogers Sportsnet’s Darren Millard tweeted that it was, in fact, Ryan who was being shopped, it started to put that friendly...

Carlyle Out, Boudreau In, Ryan Safe?

The hockey world was getting all excited about the possibility that Anaheim forward Bobby Ryan was on the trade block. The Ducks were floundering and something had to give. As a much-coveted asset, Ryan could fetch an awesome return in a trade. What team couldn't use a proven goal scorer with a robust playing style? Anaheim coach Randy Carlyle relegated Ryan to his third line...

The Obligatory Bobby Ryan Post

As per Nick Kypreos, the Anaheim Ducks are shopping star RW Bobby Ryan. Ryan is an elite talent and he is incredibly young, just 24 years old. The former second overall pick in 2005 has had a bit of a rough go of it to start the year, with “just” 11 points (7-4-11) in 23 games thus far. That is a far cry from his usual output of about 35-30-65, but it still puts him on pace for...

Matt Duchene on left wing, but Avalanche coach Joe Sacco shakes up lines

Avalanche coach Joe Sacco will again shake up his lines in search of more offense in tonight's game against the New Jersey Devils at the Pepsi Center.
