The Albany Devils picked up their first win of the season yesterday in fine fashion, shutting out the Worcester Sharks. Here are some notes on the game as well as some Devils prospects that were in action last night.

New Jersey Devils defenseman Anton Volchenkov won't be able to suit up for the Devils if the NHL season begins in early November, according to Tom Gulitti.
Volchenkov fractured his ankle in a KHL game while playing for Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod and is expected to miss the next four-to-six weeks.
If the NHL resumes in early November, which seems unlikely but is still possible...

Devils general manager Lou Lamoriello said Volchenkov has a broken ankle and is expected to miss four to six weeks.
