Following a disappointing 3-1 lost to the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday. Toronto Maple Leafs forward Joey Crabb and defenseman Carl Gunnarsson took their emotions out on each other in a short lived fight. Crabb said that he thought Gunnarsson had butt-ended him during a routine drill. But we all know the real reason for this scuffle is the unfortunate lost to the Canadiens.
“Obviously, we’re going to try to be intense and correct the things that we did wrong,” said Crabb. “We wanted a little more intensity. Nothing was planned there. When you’re battling hard, things happen.”
Gunnarsson had the most interesting quote of the incident.
“Don’t want to ruin a good-looking face,” Gunnarsson said of why he did not throw a punch.
At the end of the practice Wilson had both Crabb and Gunnarsson lead the team in stretches to finish off the practice, to make sure things were smoothed over.
