Originally drafted in the eighth round (132nd overall) of the 1975 NHL Entry Draft, Ron Wilson grinded out an NHL career spanning a total of 177 games, making stops in Toronto, Minnesota, ending his career with 26 goals and 93 points. After finishing his playing career with the Minnesota North Stars in 1987-88, Wilson took a coaching position with the Moncton Hawks of the AHL. Wilson made the leap to the NHL in a timely fashion, landing an assistant coaching position with the Vancouver Canucks in 1990-91. Wilson turned his three year apprenticeship with the Vancouver Canucks into a head coaching position with the Anaheim Ducks (who went by the “Mighty Ducks” back then) in 1993-94. Wilson quickly established himself as a visionary coach, insisting on adding technology as a coaching tool, going so far as to make it mandatory for all players to have a laptop so they could view game film.   • Kaberle has now put Burke over a barrel much like Heatley did last summer with Ottawa and I'm certain he will be dealt before the start of training camp as no way a player can tell management either he goes or I go as that just sends the wrong message to all the other team mates
