The pot for UFC’s return to Montreal just thickened with an interesting lightweight bout added to the docket.
Mike Ricci & Colin Fletcher were both favorites to get their hands raised and earn a six-figure deal with the UFC merely 24 hours apart in two different continents. Ricci was the confident Canadian that looked very impressive with three one-sided victories before failing in the finals to Colton Smith.
Fletcher, the self-proclaimed ‘Freakshow’ was one of the most colorful personalities in TUF history and was able to back it up in the cage too but much like his Canadian counterpart when he made it to the finals he failed to impress with his loss to friend and training partner Norman Parke.
With a defeat on their Octagon record already, another setback for either of these men could give them their walking papers so expect nothing short of excitement when these two battle for a place in the 155-pound logjam at UFC 158 on March 16.
