Travel must not bother Tuukka Rask.
The Bruins goalie went 4-0 on the team’s five-game road trip, culminating in a 36-save effort in a 4-1 victory over the Islanders on Tuesday. The 36 stops marked a season high for the netminder, who was peppered with shots from all angles by an opportunistic Isles attack. Only one snot found the back of the net, however, and the B’s ended their road swing with a win.
“I got a couple off my head. But, you know, it happens, right?” Rask told NESN’s Naoko Funayama during Ace Ticket Presents Bruins Overtime LIVE after the game.

May 10, 2010, roughly 10PM. It was an electrifying moment. Overtime. Marc Savard, back on the ice for the first time in two months, skating left to right across the ice, palms up, fists clenched between his knees with a giant smile across his face.
Though David Krejci was the one that put the puck in the net, every skater played a part in the Bruins’ third goal Tuesday night.
Zdeno Chara controlled the puck in the Bruins zone before sending a pass to Nathan Horton streaking down the right side. Horton’s centering pass to Milan Lucic drew in both Islanders defensemen, leaving Krejci wide open for the one-timer. It was a...
So, after Marchand put another one in the back on the net last night, it got me to thinking, if this was going to be an 82 game season, how many goals would Marchand be on pace for? After doing the math, it comes out to 51, or 55 goals depending on if you count the game he didn't play or not. Either way, 50+ flipping goals? If you had told me last year that Marchand would be...
The highlight of the weekend for Bruins fans was certainly big man Zdeno Chara‘s spinning backhand goal — highlights of which have since swept across the internet. It’s never too early to look back on such an impressive display, and Tuesday’s Crown Royal Maple Smooth Finish did just that.
Check it out in the video above.
The NHL sounds like its ready to add even more outdoor games, and the Bruins are reportedly looking to get in on the action.
TheFourthPeriod.com reported earlier this week that the NHL is looking to hold as many as four outdoor games in 2014, starting with the Winter Classic on Jan. 1 between Detroit and Toronto. The report also indicated that outdoor games could be hosted at Yankee...
The Bruins have enjoyed much success on the road this season, which can only be seen as a positive as they wrap up a five-game trip on Tuesday.
After a couple of successful stops in Florida, the B’s are inching their way back to Boston with a stop on Long Island, where the Islanders have had a bit of trouble defending their own turf this year. Then again, it isn’t going to be...

Bruins 4, Islanders 1
The Bruins and Islanders met for the first time this season on Tuesday night and the Isles, like most of the teams the B’s have faced off against in the past few weeks, headed into the matchup struggling to put it all together as a team. While the Bruins entered Tuesday with an 11-2-2 start, the Islanders were sitting in the basement of the Atlantic Division...
For last night's Days of Y'Orr Pregame Show, I had a feature all set up where we looked at how much each Bruins cost per point scored, with cha-ching sound effects and everything, and then my Internet went and **** the bed. We were able to finish the DOYLive show but I had to cut the feature for time sake.
But I didn't want the graphics to go to waste.
Man, the Bruins really gave it to state of Florida didn't they? Just absolutely took that state and humped it into submission, like watching a drunk dog trying to hump a Japanese sex doll. Just really dug in there and just buried their puck into Florida's netting. Forget for a minute that the Bruins basically played on a melting glacier and think about seeing 12 of...
The Boston Bruins have the best winning percentage in the Eastern Conference, but what the Ottawa Senators are doing may be even more impressive given their injury-decimated roster.
Both teams put winning streaks on the line as these Northeast Division rivals meet for the first time this season Thursday night in Boston.
The Bruins (12-2-2) are fully healthy and playing like it...
We have a new candidate for worst call of the year to date.
HC Vrchlabi goalie Zdenek Biegl had a penalty shot scored on him during a Czech4 league game on Sunday that never actually went in. James Luštinec of HC Trutnov fired a shot over Biegl’s shoulder during a penalty shot. The puck flew past the goalie, but was sent ringing off the right post — it never found the back...
