Looks like Pittsburgh Penguins winger Tyler Kennedy won’t be going anywhere at this year’s NHL Trade Deadline. The 25-year-old has recorded just six goals and 22 points in 42 games this season after scoring 21 goals and 45 points last year, but is now expected to miss four-to-six weeks with a high ankle sprain.
Arron Asham skated today for the first time since being diagnosed with a concussion on January 15. This is Asham’s second concussion in less than a year and the gritty winger is still considered to be a few weeks away from returning, but today’s skate was the first step towards a full recovery.
Center Jordan Staal still looks like he will return to the lineup Saturday against the Winnipeg Jets. Staal took a stick to the mouth during today’s practice and left the ice early to have it treated, but is expected to be fine after receiving some stitches.
Rookie defenseman Simon Despres also practiced again today. He paired with Ben Lovejoy on the team&...

Jordan Staal expected to play Saturday against Winnipeg
Coach Dan Bylsma said today that Jordan Staal is expected to be back in the line up on tomorrow afternoon when the Penguins take on the Winnipeg Jets. Is Obstruction Back In Play?
from Josh Yohe of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Welcome to the new NHL, which is beginning to resemble the old NHL.

The Penguins are particularly unsettled by this because...

Grading the Game: Penguins VS Canadiens
I’m not enjoying this season’s schedule – back-to-back games, then long lapses of time in between the next game – nope, I’m not liking it at all. What happened to games every other day? It just lacks consistency and it disrupts my schedule as a fan, so I can’t imagine what it’s like for the players. I realize that good teams find ways...
