It's understandable when goaltenders get frustrated because no one is clearing the crease for them. When an opposing team's forward parks themselves right in front of your goalie, you're supposed to move that player -- and don't be surprised if the goaltender goes ahead and does it for you if you don't. Craig Anderson found himself in that position Friday night against the New Jersey Devils, with Adam Henrique blocking his view. Anderson cleared his line of sight, but probably not in the most appropriate way possible: Ow. No call was made on that play, despite the fact that high-sticking with the butt-end of your stick like that is a misconduct. It was a pretty subtle jab, and no one expects a goaltender to be the one to do it either, so it makes sense that it flew under the radar of the refs. Now that everyone else has seen it, will Anderson get a call from the department of player safety? Who the heck knows. Taylor Hall didn't for his lumberjack chop a few nights ago; it's doubtful that Anderson will get one for something a lot more subtle. [follow]
