Boston had exorcised some demons after beating the Flyers in the run-up to their 2011 Stanley Cup championship. Against the Tampa Bay Lightning, however, the B’s still had some trouble protecting a 3-0 lead.
With the series in their favor 2-1, the Bruins jumped out to a 3-0 lead in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals. Patrice Bergeron scored twice and Michael Ryder added another goal to put the B’s on their way to another likely victory and the inside track to the Stanley Cup Final. If only it was that easy.
The Lightning battled back to tie things up in the second period, setting up a frantic third where both teams frantically searched for the deciding goal.

Some people were surprised that the Boston Bruins drafted a goaltender in the firstround of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, seeing as how the Bruins arguably have the best goalie tandem in the NHL with Tim Thomas and Tuukaa Rask, but Malcolm Subban is trying to quell those naysayers. So far he is doing a [...]

The Catch. The Drive. The Save?
Tim Thomas made the play of his life in Game 5 of the 2011 Eastern Conference finals, denying Steve Downie‘s shot on an open net with a sprawling, acrobatic lunging save. By poking away Downie’s point-blank shot with his stick, Thomas ensured himself a place in hockey lore and hinted at the rest of the magic that the Bruins had in store for their...
HAVERHILL, Ma. – It’s no secret that on the list of my favorite Boston sports teams that the Boston Bruins have never been #1 or even #2. I never played hockey growing up (although I wanted to) but I was always a fan from the time I can remember. My earliest memories of watching the [...]

Since I've been living in Tuscaloosa, I have always adored Big Al. I have a soft spot for mascots (Oregon's Duck is awesome, and if you haven't seen the Tampa Bay Lightning mascot, you should definitely youtube it right now). I think I must be deprived because Michigan doesn't have someone walking around in a wolverine suit on campus. Either way, ever since I moved...
