Bleacher Report:
Maple Leafs GM Brian Burke announced earlier tonight that the club has made a trade with the Calgary Flames. It’s a move that sees recently acquired Colin Stuart, a seventh round pick in 2012, and highly touted defense man Anton Stralman to Calgary in exchange for grinder Wayne Primeau, and a 2nd round pick in 2011.
Though it’s only been official for a short while, the move is definitely creating quite a reaction in Leafs Nation, and not all of it is positive.
Stralman, a very popular prospect among Maple Leafs fans, was seen by many as a future top four defense man. In his short time with the Maple Leafs, he has shown flashes of offensive brilliance from the back end.
From a personal standpoint I don’t like this move much as of this writing. Let’s take a look at this a little closer shall we?
