It’s August 5, and you know what that means: 62 days until the start of the NHL regular season!
That’s 62 days free agents have to sign with a club.
Most rosters are set and some goalies are out of luck. That includes Marty Turco, Mike Brodeur, Pascal Leclaire and Martin Gerber, but none of which make the list…
Here are the top 5 free agents out there.
Teemu Salanne (Anaheim Ducks), Expected Salary: $1,000,000 – Many reports indicate that he will either play for the Ducks or retire. But with 80 points last season as a 40 year old, if he gets an offer he can’t refuse, would that change? Would he go somewhere else? It’s unlikely, but it’s still a possibility. He can still skate at speeds players his age shouldn’t and has one of the best combinations of quickness and hands in the NHL. He can still blow past your teams’ defenceman.
