Winnik also out with flu, Avs going with 7 defensemen vs. Montreal

Avalanche winger Daniel Winnik won’t play against Montreal tonight because of the flu. With two other forwards on the active roster — Milan Hejduk and Cody McLeod — also out with groin muscle issues, Colorado will go with seven defensemen and 11 forwards in the lineup. As both Paul Stastny and Avalanche coach Joe Sacco said would be the case after this morning’s optional skate, Stastny indeed is back in the lineup after missing the Friday game against Ottawa. This will be the rare night when Colorado has no healthy scratches.
