Aaron Ward on the UND and Michigan matchup
Former Boston Bruin and Michigan Wolverine player Aaron Ward was asked about this week’s up coming series with the Sioux and Wolverines. Sounds a little like sand bagging. I also doubt that the Sioux or the Wolverines are looking past each other.

Canes put Aaron Ward on waivers
The Canes today placed defenseman Aaron Ward on waivers. Teams have 24 hours to claim him.
Ward, who played for the Canes' 2006 Stanley Cup champions, returned to Carolina in an offseason trade with the Boston Bruins. He was minus-15 in 31 games.
Ward was at practice today at the RecZone but left early.

Ward a believer in new 'hat'
Hockey players, like most pro athletes, are creatures of habit, reluctant to change and tend to be superstitious.
To make a change in equipment, they have to be fully convinced "new" also means "better." And that's the case with Canes defenseman Aaron Ward and his new helmet.
Ward now is wearing an M11 helmet. The Messier Project helmet uses a liner...

Canes' grittiness impressed Ward
Aaron Ward had a look at the Hurricanes from the other side in last year's Stanley Cup playoffs.
A defenseman for the Boston Bruins, Ward believed the B's were good enough, strong enough to win the Cup. The Bruins were the top seeds in the Eastern Conference, only to be beaten by the Canes in the conference semifinals.
His impression of the Canes?
"Gritty,"...

Ward happy to be back
RALEIGH — Aaron Ward was on the seventh hole of MacGregor Downs Country Club in Cary, playing with a member of Kid Rock’s band, when his cell phone rang this morning.
The number was familiar, and he didn’t have a good feeling about.
“It was [Boston Bruins general manager] Peter Chiarelli, and I knew it wasn’t good when your general manager calls you in the middle of the...

'Canes reacquire D Ward from Boston
Aaron Ward is headed back to the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Hurricanes reacquired the rugged defenseman from the Boston Bruins on Friday for forward Patrick Eaves and a fourth-round draft pick next year.
The move makes teammates of Ward and the player who infamously punched him two months ago. Scott Walker decked Ward late during Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinal won...

Aaron Ward is Not Pleased With Scott Walker

Scott Walker Labels Aaron Ward With A Cheap Shot
The league has to review this play, this is suspension worthy. I would say about 4-5 games at least. I don’t care what some homer writer from Carolina has to say, this was a cheap sucker punch. Back in 1995 when Rangers goon Tie Domi sucker punched the gutless puke Ulf Samuelsson and he got 8 games. In my opinion Scott Walker broke the code by punching a guy that wasn't ready...
