NEW YORK (February 6, 2012)—Colorado Avalanche forward Chuck Kobasew has been fined $2,500, the maximum allowed under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for tripping Vancouver Canucks defenseman Dan Hamhuis in NHL Game No. 770 in Colorado on Saturday, Feb. 4, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Chuck Kobasew, a forward who played the last two seasons for the Minnesota Wild, signed a two-year deal with the Colorado Avalanche on Friday.

The Colorado Avalanche signed veteran right wing Chuck Kobasew to a two-year contract Friday.The deal is worth $2.5 million for Kobasew, who managed only nine goals and seven assists in 63 games with the Minnesota Wild last season. The 29-year-old Kobasew has three 20-goal seasons, the last time with Boston in 2008-09, when he had a career-high 42 points on 21 goals and 21 assists.

Wild acquire Kobasew in trade with Bruins
