Blue Jackets' Byers suspended 3 games
Columbus Blue Jackets forward Dane Byers has been suspended three games without pay for a shoulder-to-head hit on San Jose's Andrew Desjardins on Saturday night.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and based on his average annual salary, Byers will forfeit $8,918.91. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.

Blue Jackets tap Byers on emergency recall
The Blue Jackets added center Dane Byers to the roster on an emergency recall from their minor league affiliate in Springfield, Mass.
Columbus general manager Scott Howson made the announcement Monday.
Byers, 25, has seven goals and eight assists with the Falcons this season. He leads the club in penalty minutes and is second in power play goals, with four.
