Oilers lose to Canucks 3-2 in shootout
Whatever Tom Renney said or did with his team on Sunday, it certainly is having a lasting effect. For the second night in a row, the Oilers held in took the game to extra time. Also for the second night in a row, Devan Dubnyk started for the Oilers. Overall, Dubnyk once again looked good in net.
Of course it was a Sedin who opened the game’s...

Cam Gore: Sharks lose in a shoot-out in Oil country
The San Jose Sharks peppered the Oilers goalie Devan Dubnyk with 45 shots but still only came away with 1 point as the Oilers won the game 2-1 in the shootout.
The Oilers scored on a fortunate bounce and the Sharks only had one power play which they scored on, however that five minute major was a missed opportunity for San Jose.
The Sharks only goal of the game came one minute...

Richard Cloutier: Dubnyk Beats Sharks
The Oilers for a change weren't terrible, but on Monday, Devan Dubnyk was responsible for the team's victory over the San Jose Sharks. Perhaps we could play Dubnyk more often, Mr. Renney? Sounds good.
A few notes from the game:
- Taylor Frankenhall scored the shootout winner for the Oilers. A gutsy game by Hall, who flew around recklessly throughout the game as he always...

Devan Dubnyk with a late save of the year bid
Devan Dubnyk robbed Olli Jokinen in the first period of Edmonton's 5-4 shootout loss to the Flames on Saturday, perhaps the best save of his young career. Dubnyk was a first round draft pick way back in 2004 but hasn't seen NHL ice until this season. If you've ever seen him play you know why. Dubnyk's 6'5 frame isn't exactly an asset. His lanky frame seems...

Devan Dubnyk Earns 1st Career Shutout As Oilers Blank Preds 4-0
It’s a cause for a celebratory cocktail. Devan Dubnyk had 37 saves in his first NHL shutout, and the Oilers had four goals in a rare win over the Nashville Predators.
A RED LETTER DAY
Devan Dubnyk notched a substantial effort with a shutout performance against a pretty good Western Conference opponent. Let’s have a look at one of his thirty-seven saves, shall we...

Oilers 4, Ducks 2 – This Performance Brought To You By Devan Dubnyk
Anaheim shoots often early, Corey Perry scores on his own net to seal the deal.
This, plus more after the jump.

I cannot say enough about goaltender Devan Dubnyk’s play in last night contest. The man’s a welcome breath of fresh air with his sparkly overall .930 SV% (albeit over a smattering of games) and the fact he turned...

Dubnyk joins Team Canada at WHCs
Darren Dreger (tsn) is reporting today that Devan Dubnyk is off to Mannheim to join Team Canada at the World Hockey Championships. It is a curious choice given the names that are available (Fleury apparenty turned down an invite) and one would think that Jeff Deslauriers would have been the more likely name from the Oilers based on depth chart. This is a subtle item, but it may be...

Devan Dubnyk: Get Off of My Cloud
Devan Dubnyk is a big goalie. Huge. 6.06, 194 according to the Oilers website. He's also confident; DD told anyone who would listen in the fall of 2009 he felt ready for the NHL and was coming to camp to win a job. He was basically telling JDD to move it on over, and his play late in the season may have secured his future with the copper and blue. Boxcars: 19gp, 3.57 SP: .889 WLT...

Splash Mountain
In early December I ranked Devan Dubnyk as the #12 Oiler prospect, saying "he's in the range of goaltenders with enough ability to get a real chance and he's also in a group of men who'll need some luck in order to stay."Dubnyk has some luck on his side right now. A season-ending injury to Nikolai Khabibulin and inconsistent play from Jeff Deslauriers have given the 2004 1st round...

#12 Prospect: Devan Dubnyk
Current Rank: #12Summer 2009: #12Devan Dubnyk's goaltending career-- more than pretty much anyone since Gilles Meloche--has been spent in the service of subpar teams. In junior, his Kamloops Blazers were a middling team who seemed to be shorthanded nightly. In the AHL, Dubnyk's Falcons have been flat out bad since he arrived. The question with regard to DD is he the victim or the...
