Eric Godard Signs With Dallas Stars, Penguins Still Looking For Enforcer?
The Dallas Stars signed Pittsburgh Penguins enforcer Eric Godard to a two-year deal today.
In year one, the contract will pay Godard $750k at the NHL level, but just $105k he is assigned to the AHL.
In the second year, Godard will receive $700k regardless of where he plays.
The 31-year-old played 19 games for the Penguins last season, accumulating three assists and 105 PIMs.

Penguins Notebook: Godard waits for his return to lineup
SUNRISE, Fla. -- For someone who goes 6 feet 4, 214 pounds, winger Eric Godard has been all but invisible the past several weeks. The Penguins' enforcer has not played since Feb. 11 in an ugly, penalty-marred, 9-3 loss against the New York Islanders. Godard received an automatic 10-game suspension for coming off the bench to defend a teammate in a fight in that game.

Pens forward Eric Godard will be out 4-6 weeks with an injured groin, and to fill his roster spot, the team has recalled Nick Johnson, who has one goal in three NHL games this season.
