SAN JOSE, Calif. — Forwards David Van Der Gulik and Evan Brophey will make their NHL season debuts for the Avalanche tonight against the Sharks at HP Pavilion. Van Der Gulik, who leads Lake Erie in scoring with 19 points in 21 games, will play on the Jay McClement-line with TJ Galiardi. Brophey will center Brad Malone and Cody McLeod.

Twenty-something centers Justin Mercier and Evan Brophey were reassigned to the Avalanche’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Lake Erie Monsters, and youngsters Garrett Meurs and Calvin Pickard are headed back to their Canadian Hockey League junior teams.
