The Atlanta Thrashers have signed free agent forward Fredrik Modin, giving the team another veteran with experience in the Stanley Cup playoffs. The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed forward Fredrik Modin on injured reserve and made several other moves to reduce their roster to 23 players heading into Saturday's opener against Minnesota.
