Ian White is an upgrade over Brian Rafalski: Revisited
A while back I stated my overall love for the deal that brought Ian White to the Wings this off season. It's quite possibly the best move of the summer and Kenny pulled it off while other teams were spending boatloads of cash on unproven players that they most likely will regret.Click the jump for more
-- First of all let me start this off by saying that Brian Rafalski...

Puck Defeats White's Face
Ian White had a hell of a game Saturday, getting probably one of the nicest goals and certainly had the nicest save. The only problem with that is that it was with his face. Unfortunatly the puck won that battle and White is out with an injury.
White will miss the upcoming four-game road trip due to a fractured cheekbone. General manager Ken Holland said he will be out 1-2 ...

Best free agent signings of 2011 Part 3- Ian White, Detroit Red Wings
By KYLE BAUER
This free agency period was considered by most, a mediocre class. I believe this class offered a lot of bargain second-third line forwards, and solid defensemen that could put a contending team over the top. The following series will evaluate some of the best bargains and signings of the class. There will be no Brad Richards or Christian Erhroff, that’s too easy...

Ian White Trade – His Fate Was Sealed
If Ian White was surprised by today’s trade sending him to Carolina, he shouldn’t have been. His fate was sealed three weeks ago.
That’s when the Calgary Flames signed fellow defenceman Mark Giordano to a five-year contract extension worth $4-million a year. In doing so, the Flames essentially chose Gio over White.
Both defencemen were due to become unrestricted free agents...

The White Shadow
Just coming back from vacation, and catching up on some of the Flames news. The most important, of course, was last week’s signing of Ian White – though the biggest thing about that news was that it wasn’t bigger.
White, the best thing to come out of last winter’s bizarre trading spree in Flameland, signed a one-year deal last Friday. While the Flames didn’t disclose the...
