Flyers Dropped in Bruising Matinee
One of the prevalent storylines for the Flyers lately are all the man games lost to injury. Today, it got a little worse, with two more skaters spending time on the trainer's table, while another was lost to long penalties. The Sabres were able to outlast the Flyers in a 60-minute rumble, winning 4-2. With Danny Briere also out serving a suspension, it only got worse in terms...

Well, now we're seeing the yin to that yang, with two straight weeks of games on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, which has to be rough on the players who are also on a long-distance road trip. Extensions for the… Extended?
I originally wanted to write up a few ideas I had about resigning key impending FAs, but I realized that there aren’t many this year. Jared Ross, Nate Raduns, and Danny Syrvet are all arbitration eligible RFAs at the end of this upcoming season. So then I began to think about extensions, more of who [...]

Forsberg, Serena, Donovan Oh My!
Forsberg Not Playing in NHL This SeasonSo, Foppa ain't coming back. At least not to the NHL, Foppa hasn't ruled out playing in the Swedish Elite League for Modo, or as I call it Team Foppa. Flyers General Manager Paul Holmgren pretty much broke the news, as I'm pretty sure he has Foppa posters hung up in his office. This set back likely won't end this love affair...

Flyers send Downie, Ross to the minors
Five games into the season, the Flyers remain winless and continue to search for answers on how they can improve their play. They made a few personnel moves today, demoting forwards Steve Downie and Jared Ross to the Phantoms and bringing Andreas Nodl up to the big club.
Downie's demotion was one I called for after his effort Saturday night against the Sharks:
"Steve...
