The Phoenix Coyotes recalled forward Kyle Chipchura from Portland of the American Hockey League on Thursday.
Chipchura, who signed with the Coyotes as a free agent in July, played in the club's season opener against San Jose before being sent down.

Canadiens sign F Chipchura to one-year deal
Forward Kyle Chipchura has signed a one-year contract with the Montreal Canadiens.
Saturday's move comes a day after the Canadiens announced a three-year deal for forward Travis Moen and a one-year contract for free-agent defenseman Paul Mara.
The 6-foot-2, 204-pound Chipchura had three assists and five penalty minutes in 13 regular-season games.
